Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

I’ve spent years trying out different chocolate chip cookie recipes. Hands down this is the best! An easy recipe for your family, a party, get together or to take to the office.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (the whole package)
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Gather your ingredients, making sure your butter is softened, and your eggs are room temperature (if possible)
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  3. Beat butter, white sugar, and brown sugar in your Kitchen Aid mixer or with an electric mixer in a large bowl. Beat it very well until smooth.
  4. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Then add the vanilla.
  5. Mix in the flour. Then stir in chocolate chips and walnuts by hand.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough about two inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Your can use parchment paper for baking if you’d like.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven until edges are nicely browned, about 10-11 minutes.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets briefly before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Serve immediately. Store extra cookies in an airtight container.
