A Great Shift Has Happened: A Turning Point

Do you feel it? A great shift in our world has just happened; a real turning point in history.

It is not the first time I have witnessed great evil. I saw the assassination of President Kennedy on TV as a child and watched my teacher cry. I remember when someone attempted to assassinate President Ford twice in 1975. Someone shot Ronald Reagan in 1981, and he nearly died. In 2005, a man threw a live grenade toward George Bush during a speech, and it almost killed him, but it did not detonate. We all remember the two attempts on Donald Trump’s life.

But those were presidents; Charlie Kirk was not. This time, it was a truth-teller who interacted with high school and college students, answering their questions. Charlie always intertwined his comments with the truth of God’s Word. However, today, some people hate what the Bible says. It doesn’t align with their own made-up sense of right and wrong; they want to be free to do whatever they want. They don’t enjoy hearing that what they are doing is wrong, especially if God calls it sin. It was a leftist, a homosexual with a trans lover, who shot a godly man—God’s man.

What we are seeing on social media is sickening. I want to be clear – no one should ever celebrate, cheer and mock the assassination of anyone, and shamelessly post their reactions on social media for the entire world to see. This behavior exposes the evil in people’s hearts; it is a sickness, a cancer that the death culture of the Left has fed. The violence will not stop until we call out the vile people who dance for death. People are walking away from the Left, waking up to all the lies and craziness they believe in. Read their stories of waking up to the truth – I walked away years ago. (https://www.walkawaycampaign.com/

Some people are so easily deceived. We must remember that Satan is pure evil, the author of lies. He is laughing and reveling in the evil he has perpetuated. Satan’s goal is to instigate pain, sorrow, and death throughout the world. Satan accuses and deceives us, condemning, antagonizing, and confusing us to fill us with doubt and despair. Many hearts are open to evil, and it seeps in slowly. Satan wants to keep unbelievers away from the saving grace of Jesus.

“You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:42-45 [Jesus is talking to the Jews – their spiritual father is Satan and not God].

For too long, I have felt silenced. However, you cannot silence the truth, even by killing someone who is speaking it. When people hear the truth, they go out and tell others. Charlie heard the voice of Jesus – to go out and tell others the truth bravely.

Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose, I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world — to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”

Some people are surprisingly easily persuaded by friends or “likes” from strangers on social media. They are influenced by fake memes, edited videos, and AI-generated content, which might include partial truths or outright lies. It then becomes easy to hate those you don’t even know. People are lazy and don’t even take the time to verify a meme or video before reposting it.

This “Great Shift” we are seeing and feeling has exposed the evil in the hearts of those who openly celebrate someone’s assassination. These individuals—physicians, nurses, professors, teachers, students, and even your Facebook friends—they are everywhere. It can be an “eye-opener” to learn that your doctor or coworker is celebrating the killing of someone.

Charlie advocated for engaging in face-to-face peaceful dialogue with people. He was a proponent of the First Amendment of free speech.

We’ve all seen what the Left has done, and is still doing.

The list could go on for a hundred pages of examples.

Because of this tragedy, many companies and schools do not want to be affiliated with those who publicly expose their hatred and inner demons. You do not have the right to force your employer to keep you on after they discover you are a hateful individual advocating for murder. When employed, you sign a code of conduct document. So why are they surprised when they get fired?

For years, they have tried to suppress and silence conservatives and cancel our voices. We are now in a “consequence culture” where people must take responsibility for their actions.

And yet, much good has emerged from this turmoil. The Turning Point USA organization has a presence in over 3,500 high schools and college campuses nationwide, with over 250,000 student members. However, as of this writing, they have received over 54,000 requests for new chapters in high schools and colleges.

People around the world are mourning Charlie—he was more than just a political figure—he was a Christian. It is right for us to mourn someone who was killed within the body of Christ. We all recognize this as a spiritual battle, but ultimately, good will win against the forces of evil. We must not stand down; we must stand up for God’s values because God is on our side.

Charlie loved people enough to go out and tell them the truth. Who was Charlie Kirk?

  • He was a Christian called to boldly share God’s truth and plan for their lives. He was a 24/7 Christian who preached the gospel of Jesus Christ. He said, “Politics is peanuts compared to Jesus.”
  • He supported the First Amendment, the freedom of speech.
  • He was pro-family. He supported biblical marriage between a man and a woman.
  • He was pro-life. He loved his neighbors and advocated for the protection of all human beings, no matter what stage of life they were in, including the preborn in the womb.
  • He was pro-Israel. Genesis 12:3
  • He held conservative values, including free market capitalism. He was opposed to Marxism and Socialism ideology, which takes away our freedoms and is incompatible with Christian values.
  • He was a patriot who was for religious freedom and American values.
  • He was a strong advocate for the Second Amendment, emphasizing that it is essential for protecting citizens against a tyrannical government.
  • He was for educating young people about our country’s government, conservative principles, and encouraged them to engage in the political process.
  • He was NOT a nazi, fascist, racist or homophobic, hate speech, or a white supremacist. [Notice these are all trigger words and lies spread by the Left on news sites and social media. They will continue until liberal minds are conditioned to believe it.]
  • He gave everyone the microphone for a discussion on any topic and was respectful of them. He did his research, he was smart, and he enjoyed talking with our youth. He integrated faith with conservative values, advocating for a society that reflects Christian morals and principles. Isn’t that what a society needs?

The signers of the Declaration of Independence risked their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor by committing an act of treason against the British Crown, fully aware that the penalty for their actions could be death. Many faced severe consequences, including capture, torture, and loss of property during the Revolutionary War. If Charlie Kirk had lived 250 years ago, he would have been one of them. He would have risked his life in signing the Declaration of Independence.

And so, a great shift has taken place—individuals are awakening with newfound clarity, recognizing the falsehoods that have long been perpetuated. At last, the truth is coming to light.

Charlie’s legacy will live on through millions. Truly, this has awoken a sleeping giant. A word of caution: we must be careful not to make Charlie an idol – we must follow Christ (as he did).

“Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.’ John 12:24

As for me, I will not be silent anymore.
