A Very Different America Is Coming

The majority of the people voted for change, they voted for a new President, a new King, a Savior, – they wanted Obama and they got their wish.  Why did you vote for Obama?  I’ve asked some folks and this is what they said:  1) they want the war in Iraq to end so the money can be spent here at home, 2) they want someone to fix the economy, 3) they want cheaper fuel/energy, 4) they want cheaper (or free) health care, 5) they want the government to send them some money or get a huge tax decrease, 6) he’s black, I’m black, so I’m voting for Obama, 7) he’s younger than McCain, he’ll have more energy, 8) I’m a senior citizen and I want the government to take care of me, and the list goes on.

The media has portrayed a beautiful wrapping paper and ribbons on the Obama package, yet what’s inside the package isn’t going to look too good as the dust settles in the near future.   Man looks at the outward appearance while God looks at the heart.

What’s really in the Obama package?  

Obama stated during the presidential campaign that one of his top priorities upon taking office would be to sign the Freedom of Choice Act.  This Act abolishes all restrictions on abortions, partial birth abortions and babies who are born alive; they’ll now be allowed to die on the table.  The Freedom of Choice Act is really the Freedom to Kill Babies Act – and that folks, is what Obama supporters voted for.   This Act will open the doors wide to an estimate of more than 125,000 abortions/year.  In case you didn’t know, the consequences of Roe v. Wade, there have been over 50 million babies killed since 1973.  I would call that a national and moral tragedy!   Apparently, half our nation feels this is a non-issue and so more babies will be killed.  On top of that, as part of his healthcare plan, he wants to have taxpayers pay for abortions.  In addition, Obama supports teaching homosexual marriages, homosexuality in the public schools, and favors adoption for homosexuals.   Barack Obama will be "the most radical pro-abortion president" and “the most pro-homosexual” President the U.S. has ever had.

Obama also has stated that he is a Christian.  A Christian is a follower of Christ, the teachings of Christ (which by the way is the Bible).  What does the Bible say about killing?  If take a quick look at the 10 Commandments you’ll see  “you shall not murder” Exodus 20:13.  What does the Bible say about homosexuality?  Plenty.  The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Romans 1:26-27; Romans 1:26-27.  Specifically, the Bible says “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination,” Leviticus 18:22.  1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.  The bottom line is that the Bible teaches specifically that homosexuality is a choice, in a nutshell it’s choosing to sin; and sin is denying and disobeying God.  Based on Obama’s pro-abortion and pro-homosexual stances, I would be a long stretch for me to believe he is a Christian. 

The people that voted for Obama apparently agree with these non-Christian values.  It seems that many people who claim the Christian faith cast their religious values aside in favor of their own issue or being part of a historic event.

What kind of America are we going to see? 

Beginning with the Obama administration and continuing into the future, I believe that we are headed for a slow moral and spiritual decline.  For the first time ever, America will be transformed into a European-type socialistic country as Obama has promised.  With a Democratic foothold in the Whitehouse and Congress, there will come more government involvement to control our lives, more government programs and higher taxes to support those programs.   We’ll be paying for programs we don’t even believe in, such as Planned Parenthood, who encourages women to get abortions.  Our tax dollars will be paying for women who want an abortion.  We’ll see government take control of our public school system and our kids will be force fed whatever the government wants to teach them.  I believe homeschooled kids will begin to be coerced/forced to join the “mainstream” education.  Obama supports the Hate Crimes Act, which means Christians could be silenced or arrested for saying something deemed offensive—like homosexuality is an abomination to God.   In turn, I foresee Christian stations being forced to get off the airwaves and Christians will be attacked full force.  We’ll see waves of silencing the Christians.  I believe we’ll see a weaker economy ahead; a weaker military; higher taxes to support socialized health care and a long waits to be seen by a doctor.  We’ll see the government eyeing our hard earned savings and 401K’s  so they have a way to support many expensive immoral programs. 

Obama wants to spread the wealth.  It may sound nice to those of us who are middle class or poor, kind of like Robin Hood taking from the rich and giving to the poor.  “Spreading the wealth” philosophy implies taking your money and giving it to someone else.  Many think he is talking about taking money from the rich and from businesses, but you’ll soon see he means you too.   In a nutshell, the government will force you to give your hard earned money to someone who can’t work or who doesn’t feel like working. 

What can Christians do now?

Hold fast to your Christian values, stand your ground, be vocal, be strong and courageous.  Pray for Obama’s spiritual condition, the spiritual condition of this country, and pray for his leadership over this nation over the next 4 years.  Keep praying, but hang on … we may be in for the “ride of your life”. 

Remember, God is in control.  God can use a President such as Obama, to turn their hearts and minds from a person the liberal media has turned into a glamorized rock star/savior to looking up to someone who is all powerful, all knowing, always watching, and ever present.  God.  He sent His only Son, Jesus, that we might believe that He died on a cross to shed his holy blood, that it would cover our sins, past, present and future.  God is waiting for us to repent of our sins, invite Jesus to take control of our life, follow Him and all his teachings, and to join him in eternity in heaven when we die.   He also commanded us to tell others this good news.  Be encouraged today—tell others.
